neil ,
it might be better if you give some details on what kind of set up you are using too , also there is a lot of videos on youtube that may help out too , i would help you but im not in newcastle and my casting distance is 51 meters good luck mate
Neil, your best bet would be to call Sea Angler. They have a network of casting instructors all over the country who will be able to sort you out. They will give you the numbers of local instructors who will be only to pleased to check your equipment and teach you how to cast properly. I wouldn't be surprised to see you double your cast within an hour or two. Hope this helps,Jonesy
Thanks for the info lads, im using a sonik sk3, 14ft 5-7oz with a g-mag six, 18lb line and 60lb shock,im not new to fishing but gave it up for over 4 year, i have watched a load of vidio, but cant seem to get it right, ill get in touch with a casting insructor, but if any of the lads are fishing, i would like to come and watch
This video is great to watch mate, but don't go out and start trying to band pendulum casts out, without speaking to Bob Collins or sum1 similar first !!! The only extra distance you'll be gettin is the distance travelled to the tackle shop to buy more line after you reels explode !!! Lol...
Definitely worth dropping a PM to ARC ! Aka Bob Collins. Top bloke !!!
Bob was kind enough to get in touch with me, i exploded my reel at jarrow last week, but i had knocked mags off when reeling in, and yes the other 8 people who were fishing saw everything !!! Lol
ABU 65 mag, when ABU came up with this reel they never gave a thought to RH casters using the reel in the low down position.
I've used this reel and did the same, as you grip the spool your hand pushers the mags to off.
If pendulum casting even if you look to see mags are set correctly as you start to move and put the power in you cant stop pushing the mags to off.
