Saturday was probably our best day of the season for numbers of fish taken but we had to endure some extreme weather and oh boy did it rain. We left RQ's at 7am and headed out to our first local wreck which produced a dozen decent Cod in just a few drifts. The next wreck on our list appeared to have at least six boats buzzing around so we changed our plans and headed North to a couple of wrecks off Blyth. The Blyth wrecks produced another dozen each which took us to our quota of keepers for the day but the weather was turning nasty so we abandoned the wrecking and headed for the ground off Cambois. The rain was so intense that standard waterproofs were useless and heavy duty oilskins faired little better but the fish were coming in thick and fast so we didn't mind or perhaps didn't notice how wet we were getting. We must have returned at least 80 Cod and Ling before the elements final beat us so we retreated to the wheelhouse, turned on the heater and headed for home. There were no double figure fish but they were all fresh, clean and fighting fit.

There certainly seems to be a lot of fish around at the moment.:):) sounds like a brill day, and good on ya's returning so many fish. Only a few years ago, most fish would have been kept. Shows responsibility:thumbup:
