The sea looked quite flat tonight so I had a very short early evening session before the predicted Easterlies keep us tied to our moorings for yet another week. I planned to fish the ground around the yellow can but stopped for a drift over the wreck just South of the can. First drop of my "sherbet lemon" pirk produced a Cod of 4lb and second drift produced another Cod a tad bigger. The wind was freshening from the South East and the tide was on the run out so I changed to a flowing trace as the drift was very quick. I landed and returned a further three Cod before the drift became too quick so I called it a day and headed home. The Cod were all fresh run spring fish and it's just a pity the weather is preventing us from getting amongst them.
