Knowing that the forecast was for North and East winds we took advantage of a light Northerly on Tuesday just in case it was the last opportunity for a while. We left the Tyne at 7am at the top of the tide and fished the slack water which produced nothing but Pouting and small Cod which were duly returned. When the tide turned the Cod got a tad bigger and soon we were returning Cod to 3lb which were mostly caught on flowing trace as it was wind against tide. We kept 4 decent Cod to 6lb and got back for lunchtime. It seems the Spring run is just about to kick in so when the wind swings back to the West, get those freezer bags ready!!!
