Catch Report "Grace" Sunday 10th June

A welcome break in the constant North East winds gave us a "window of opportunity" although the sea was still running heavy and very dirty up to five miles out. The forecast predicted a freshening Easterly in the afternoon so we decided to keep reasonably close to home and fish the "Geordie" wrecks with the flotilla of local boats who were also taking advantage of the light winds.
We picked up a variety of decent fish on every wreck including a substantial and particularly aggressive Wolf Fish that had everyone doing the "Wolfie dance" to avoid the snapping jaws. We shared a wreck with "Callisto" and transfered one of his crew onto our boat as he felt obliged to return to port with a seasick crew member who was deteriorating by the minute. We also shared a wreck with the very smart "Intercepter" and we drifted side by side for quite some time with both boats simultaneously pulling in decent Cod.
A very good day was had and let's hope it's the start of our belated season.
