Catch Report, Lady Elsie - Hartlepool

Finally I get to put my first boat catch report..

As you can probably tell already, still beaming after a fantastic day at sea.

Interesting start, the party of 10 who had chartered the boat didnt turn up, wouldnt take the skippers calls.. Wonder if they realise this is how the charters make their living..

Anyhow, Skipper said fantastic day lets not waste it and set off just after 8.00am. There were 2 of us and the 2 crew. before 9.00 we had 3 decent cod on board. The day just got better. We all filled a bucket with cod and ling. Some of the cod just knocking on 10lb, the ling couple over 10 and a few not far off.

Highlight of my day was thinking I'd snagged (muppet) then realising I had something decent on the end. Thought it was Moby Dick. Anyway it wasnt 2 ling one nudging 11lb and the other nudging 8lb.

We also filled two boxes with Mackerel..

All in all an absolutely cracking day. Huge thanks to Chas and Barney for looking after us well. Chas was funny barking out orders so we were ready for the wrecks, everytime he did a cod jumped onto the hook..

Forgot to ask.. How do I get the house to stop swaying??

Sounds like a perfect day , plenty fish and plenty room on the boat . as for the house swaying...drink 10 cans of lager and you won't notice it at all..

i always have a vigorus session with the missus, that stops the swaying....

£30 Mate. I was recommended it as its a pretty fast boat, so youre out fishing in no time and stay out a bit longer. He really works hard to keep you in the fish. When it went quiet he was keen to mix it up.. He was even pulling Macky up for us so we could use it as bait for the bigger fish. If you google it, his website is north east sea angling.. There will be a few of us booking up for the end of the month, more than welcome to join us..

You know what Mate, I actually asked him are you sure you still want to take us out, I understand its his living.. His reply, Ive never let anybody down before, Im not starting now, its a lovely day, shame to waste it and took us to sea. The other 10 Guys lost out on a cracking day of catches..

Great skipper and has you say there are a few who would have looked at it differently to Chas.. Great Guy and he certainly has my loyalty as far as charters go...

Should have seen Neils (the young lad who was with us) face, couldnt stop smiling, went to see and came back with Ling, Cod, Mackerel, Whiting and a hernia...

Cant thank him enough....
