just got my self a blue century raptor 13ft, have not used it yet, the butt section is very pokey and the rod is light and feels like an animal lol has anyone used these if so whats your views on them? cheers arran

Lovely rods arron will cast 7oz and a big bait all day long.
My mate has one and he would never part with it.
A ttr is a floppy stick compare to the raptor.

your mate is the one who i met whilst you and hime were on the end of the old north pier i had a look at his raptor and i have wanted one since that day i finaly got one and it is the same as your mates

You better start eating lots of veg if you think your going to bend this rod easy.
Ask your John what a very stiff rod does to your back.
Good luck mate your going to need it.

I've owned blue raptors, oxblood raptors, green raptors and used grey ones and one built on a Ttp mandrel. They were all different in action, the blue one I had was very powerful and horrible, the green ones were powerful but had a nicer tip as did the oxblood one. The grey one was a horrible thing but the one built on ttp mandrel was a lovely rod. They all varied in length from 13ft upto 14ft 6in. They're an old rod now but still sort after.

thanks for the info mate :) there's also a black raptor which i believe is 15ft. mine is the blue 13ft one im sure its the 175gram version as it feels so stiff but i will give it ago tonight see how it goes

I had an oxblood one for about 5yrs crackin rods mine was the 14ft model got it as a blank for £140 and had it built for me by Ian Campbell for £60 only sold it last year on fleabay got £280 for it sumtimes wished ah had kept it cheers James;);)

Lovely rod, picked one up second hand at the start of the winter (black one, its just over 14ft). Like you say the butt is stiff as, but the tip has some give in it. Handles the kelp and rock marks really well. I'm sure you'll like it:cool:

thanks for the reply lads, this blue raptor is the stiffest rod i have ever cast, i got out and tried it today and i think it would be easier to compress a lampost lol :D i will keep practicing with it but it will make a great rock rod. had a chance of a black raptor wish i took it now!

Aye they are a bit more forgiving in the tip, still a good rough ground rod though.
