Fancied something different so went to Chaple st leonards with the old man. (inspired by the report a week or so ago).Luckily we arrived just before dark and it was pretty flat. Spent a while looking for any gulleys and eventually decided to fish around 200 yards to the right of the point itself.

Anyway, fished with frozen crab on a pulley and got a slack liner almost straight away which i missed , followed by another which resulted in a nice smoothie around 5ib. Almost straight away my dad got one as well, probably around 7ib. then things slowed right down for a few hours so we both moved along to the left of the point. As the tide started to drop the fish came on again and we both got two more each and a thonback ray of around 3ib.

Ran out of bait so that was it. No real monsters but we were really chuffed , my dad got his first smoothhounds and i got a pb thonback. Should be there again in the next week or so if weather ok.

Took some photos but struggling to get them off my new phone. will post asap.
