try to get some lead and knock yer own up andy ,
theres no such thing as a cheap pirk !
jesus ! , ive seen some stupid ones in a mail order catalogue for £15 each!!
theres loads for £3 and stuff .
rip off !!!!!
try whitby angling supplies, i bought loads from there in the past about £1.20 for a 12oz quick drop (i think) and it used to be buy 10 get one free. Have not been there this year but they have been the cheapest place i could find them for some time.
Give sinkermanallan a ring and see if he can help you got 50 off him year before last.
A couple of me mates were on about gettin some scrap lead from the yards but i had heard contrasting reports on the price of it. Will eventually make my own but for the minute manged to get a couple stainless steel ones for £3 each. Hopefully do the trick. Im off out mid week will let you all know the crack.
Correction- thay are not stainless steel they are just shiny like stainless steel and not mottled like some lead weights. I was going to assemble my own with some trebles and 14oz weights with some split rings but couldn't be arsed. only worked out about 50p cheaper anyhow.
We used to cut up old stainless steel chair legs etc scour the inside to key the surface and fill them with concrete when we were flat broke and they did the job fine!!!!!!
well said zeb i used to do that to use the concrete cheeper than meleting lead
works same to as long as you let them set (my mate didnt and ended up with a hollow tube lmao)
