Cme

Can't remember the exact wieght but compared to my Zziplexes the CME was bloody heavy.

Very nice rod, one of the best out there for learning to cast on and a cracking fishing rod to boot but they do weigh a fair bit...

Andy your welcome to weigh mine mate! You on about a mk1 or mk2? I'm sure the century website might be able to help regarding the mk2? Failing that just email them

Cheers. I've been looking at getting something lighter than what I'm using, for clean ground for the summer (and something that I can still use when my back is playing up). I was considering a CME, but my tourney match is 895, so the CME isn't much lighter. I've actually just ordered a new rod....decided to give the 15ft leeda icon fs sport continental a try, only 550grams and apparently, "a smooth overhead or off-ground cast will allow you to hit some very impressive distances" :D:D

CME is most certainly not a clean ground summer rod, in truth they have a fairly poky tip and a softish butt section (they are a great OTG rod and also low swing pendulum). I used mine a lot when I lived down south (Solent / Sussex shingle beaches) and found it way overgunned for everything except hardcore weed hauling and fishing at distance in big seas.

Looks like you've already splashed the cash but I'd have said look at the TTLD (light, very forgiving in the cast put also surprisingly powerful), a second hand Zziplex Profile or if you want a more forgiving "wind up" rod (similar in action to the CME but much more finesse and more powerful plus wonderfully light and responsive) perhaps a new model Primo Synchro...

Cheers for the advice, the ttld was a rod I considered but a too pricey new and rarely see them for sale (there was one on gumtree the other day though, I emailed him, but never got a reply), so after looking at a few continental type rods I've gone with the fs sport...look out for a catch report soon! :D

Haha, so did I Andy, the lad didn't bother replying to me either! Continental rod may very well be a decent way forward mate.

I'll be selling a full set up at weekend that is including my tts built by Stan, as need to fund some kayak gear.wont be selling separate but as full set up.

The Mk1 TT Sport is one of the best fishing rods Century have ever produced (IMHO), wish I'd never sold mine...
