Bri, if your thinking of fishing infront of the car park next to the marina, then I think the only time you can get on is when there is a ship moored up.

I think that\'s the only time they open the gates. Don\'t think you\'ll be moved on as I\'ve seen people fishing there before.

Your other option if the gates are closed, is to park in the car park and cross over the at the marina locks and fish the promenade next to the old Smiths Docks.

Just don\'t park in the marina car park though.....isn\'t that right Ell. ;)

cheers ian the problem being is ,we got to talking to a lad at the ice house and he says smiths dock is a bit iffy leaving the car for the toerags ,so we were hoping to find a park and fish pitch looking at the map you can drive right down to the river edge, didnt even look as though there was any gates ??

Bri, I\'ve just been down to fish the Royal Quays walk way next to smiths dock. I just parked in the Zetland car park and walked over the lock gates. You can go to the end of the walkway then up the hill slightly and get into smiths dock thu a hole in the fence (so a bloke fishing told me)

Fished for about an hour and a half, got 4 whitings and an eel. All on mackeral strip, got nowt on rag or crab stick thingys!

I had initially gone down to fish the prom at King Eddies bay but the waves were crashing over.
