Well as a said in an earlier thread this is my last session for a while.

Got down to codger's (Brighams) about 11.30am, virtually nobody fishing the river except two lads a could see on smiths docks. First cast around 11.45am on me zippy before setting the other rod up. That first cast set the standard for the day really, baits coming back ripped up or untouched, but a thankfully didn't get a blank.

A managed to pull out 4 whiting no bigger than me hand and a cort probably one of the biggest common eels av ever seen, wish a had me weighing scales. It had to be at least 2ft long but it was practically the thickness of a scaffold pole.

After that, plenty bites, but didn't connect with them, except the odd crab. So to sum it up, not a bad days fishing, lovely weather and no blankety blank.

Bring on the summer now, and my favourite fish of all, Plaice!:D

pity those whities wernt size, shame of about the eel aswell, are you sure it was an eel and not a RST? just with it being the thickness of a scaffy pole?

Dunno why everybody seems to think catching the eel is bad, ad rather have a day catching eels of any size than catching nowt...

Besides that eel put up on hell of a scrap on me M4-evo, kept trying to reverse back to the bottom when on the surface, but a good fight non the less. Should have brought me spinning rod and some lite weights, would have great fun!!:D

andy you should try wreck fishing for conger my pb is 68lb and what a fight they give, you think youve got them beat then they nod there head and strip your reel until youve got them tired out! cant beat it:D
