I bought a new rod today and took it to colour nose point to christen it.
I had a class session with a 7 and a half pound cod. Lots of knocks but couldn't hit them.
Love the new rod. Big thanks to Tony from Anwick.

Well done mate, nowt better than breaking the cherry on a new rod, especially first time out and with a cracking fish as well.

Guessing it was Tony's M4 Evo? Cracking rods they are, love mine for off thie piers and into mixed / rough ground

Yes Tonys M4 Evo. It's a cracking rod and got a really good work out with that fish. I still need to get used to the rod. It's quit a bit stiffer than I'm used to, but so far so good!!!!

It was good to meet you Sean. It was a long drive for you two for no fish. I was well pleased with the one but it was a hard walk back to the van with it and my failing batteries on the head tourch!
I will take your advice and get a spare set so that doesn't happen again

well done m8 sounds a cracking fish cullernose point as ive said in earlier posts can produce some great bags when you hit it right

Hi jimmy

It was good to meet the pair of you and really good of you to give me a few of your crabs when I told you I had run out. It was your crab with my black lug and muscle that got me that fish.
I hope my success continues with the new rod. It's defiantly the dream first session with it. Thanks again
