b8ker, I don't know if I'm just speaking for myself here, but I think there's a lot of 'older' lads on here who can't stand this 'text type'
Personally, I don't even bother replying to any post that uses it as I can't be bothered to de-cypher it.
Have a bit of respect for people on here and type it properly, after all, we do. That way, you may get some advice.

i agree with that mate, its ok on a text when your trying to get more words for your 10p but on a forum no way. we all speak proper english so why not type it

Only kidding mate, I know what you mean.
My Lasses Nephew started texting me and i have to ask her to decypher it. If i try myself takes me 10-20 minutes, by that time I've got another 4 messages lol
I'm 23 and don't understand it, I rarely use shortened versions of words in texts.
The nephew just started calling me uncle so i can't just ignore the texts
but he's at that text stage where "what are you upto tonight? i'm just on my computer" turns into this "wotr u up2 2nt m jus on m cmput" If we had this in World War II german's would of forgot about trying to decypher it lol(The message was a joke turned into 3 paragraphs of rambling... Sorry)

thats stupid, your saying because you type like that it makes you a real geordie, personally just a slow one. I'm a geordie and type/talk correctly, yes i've got my geordie slang under my belt but that doesnt mean that that i have to spell like a child.
I'm not meaning to have a go but you saying that your a proper geordie because you can't spell is astounding

btw B8ker, notice you can do it right when it suits you (proper words in your 'new tackle shop' thread). Potential shop keeper getting peoples back up before even got the shop open (canny business plan)
