Went out for a few hours down Copthorne today fished maybe 10am untill 2pm cauhjt one tiddler flounder few other devent knocks only used rag and lug didnt want to splash out on bait too much as heard there aint been much caught lately enjoyed the day out even tho only managed the one fish.

Try mackerel for bait next time your there, its a lot cheaper and is just as good as worm baits at the copthorne

yeah cheers for that outkast i was going to get some black lug and some bluey or makerel but didnt want to push th boat out as i hadnt heard anything about fish being caught for a while.

Welcome to the site mate, like outkast says macky is a good bait at the
copethorne, no need to cast far either, just a gentle lob will catch fish.

i'll definately try it nex time like was another guy few yarss further up from me fishing too he only managed a small codling and a small flounder too like thought that may be worth a mention thanks for all the tips so far though fellas much appreciated and will definatley try it out next time.

definately ive been stuck in not fishing since november and thought what the hell the misses was going out shopping as they do so thought i may aswell hit the tyne as its only 2 mins away from my on the bus wouldnt of been botheres if i caught nothing in fairness was just to get out and do something with my fishing gear rather than let it build up dust lol

its a wonder i havent me and my mates used to be out every weekend from early morning through til next morning but 2 of us have kids on the way so kinda stopped us getting out lol but deffo going to be getting out alot more and ive fished hebburn a few times and caught some decent fish there its a good mark i like corkies corner i think its called that anyways lol always had a good day down there

I fished there last night, only for a couple of hours 7 flatties and 1 tommy between 3 of us.

Some guy caught a salmon this afternoon.
