Corfu fishing

I'm off to the North West tip of Corfu shortly, planning on doing some shore fishing whilst i'm there. As there is no local bait to be had, any advice on what may catch fish much appreciated. Also can anyone tell me if you can a- carry fishing rods onto the plane and b- take live/frozen bait as hand luggage, i.e. crab. Any sensible answers welcome, sorry about the grammer if born after 1990.

your best bet would be,get a telesoptic rod and put it in your case.
very small hooks about size 8, 1oz sinkers and 10lb line.

small floats also work

rutherfords in sunderland has telesoptic rods for £7.00, £12.00 for the reel.
this is what i am taking to turkey on thursday 13th may.

mullet and bream is what you will catch off the shore. bread, soft cheese and sweetcorn for bait.you can buy sardines in supermarkets you can try them.

you can have some good fun in corfu fishing for garfish on the west coast on fish baits.
also you will be allowed to carry rods in the hold but the size of the fish you are likely to catch just take a telescopic in your hand luggage.
you can also catch wrasse on hermit crabs that you can collect where rocks meet sand.

slightly off from the question the lad asked, but i have always wondered if you where fishing the med or caribbean and you used a typical winter set up with a 5.0 pennel rig baited up with peeler, lug,squid, or mussel and blasted it out, would you get out, does anyone know.

Just buy a basic rod /reel set up when your there only £15.00, i just checked what the locals where using and used that, shrimps from the local supermarkets, good fun.

you lucky bugger, stayed there a couple of years ago and loved it. Didnn't catch a thing though unfortunately, only a couple of bites.
