Because of the prices it sometimes ends in crab wars.
Best spots are around river mouths or muddy areas but alot of the good spots have peoples tires down and best not to touch them (search past threads for reasons on crabbing)
If your just going around the rocks you will get a few but not in any real number.
I used to go get a few out of the Tyne in various spots but dirty work and hard going if you not got your own tyres set and cleaned out.
If your not after many best to maybe give it a bash for a few then if its not for you just buy them.
Am no crabbing expert by a million miles but for me its just not worth the bother getting my own.
they reckon the best stuff to put down is some old corragated roofing sheets lying onto the mud the crab crawl under the gaps to hide or some old cuttering shoved in the mud not flat but on a angle for them to get under and old carpets been dumped in river they like to hide under them i find softbacks like the carpets as the lift with the tide
