Well since the weather was great and it was my last day on leave i thought i would take my mam along the pier for 3hours of fishing.

We set off and was shocked to see signs up along the pier stating PRIVATE NO FISHING PORT OF TYNE. anyone know anything about this?????

Anyway i thought i got my bait and am here so stuff it and went on.....glad we did

Ended up with over 300 coalie between the 2 of us in 3hrs, they jumping out the water 3-5 at a time on daylights and both hooks on the bait..nothing of any great size 5-9" but great fun alos 2 pollack chucked in for a change.

Cracking day and most coalie in you day for a many years.

Just hit a large shoal that day and you could not hit the bottom for them, not a great deal on bait but daylights was mad fun :)

Not really much fun though, a lite spinning or even a freshwater rod would have made the sport a bit more interesting. by the way mate, r u the guy who fishes the pier when the makerel were in last yer and were giving sandeels to us?? 4got to say thatnks mate:D:D:yltype:

May have, any side hooked thta would die i just give away if someone wnats them.

It was good fun on a light spinning rod bujt got abit boring after the 100th one lol...still beats catching nothing from boat or shore.
