cree headlights seem to be the name of the moment are they any good as i,am looking for a new rechargeable head light what type of cree is the best make also been thinking of petzle lights i use a tiga headlight at the min but its getting old now , cheers jamcod ,

Got 2 and can't fault them. One lasts about 3 hours on medium power and the other at least 5. Always carry both so no bother.

I have a led lenser H7R from frasers used it for the first time Thursday .
its a great little light with plenty of power and speed focus a lot better than my other lamp.

I had bought a one as a back up headlight and I say they're terrible the slighest movement the headlight would go off and it was a faff on, you buy cheap you buy twice, stick with my tiga even though they're a bit of a pain to carry:)

Cree

Cree

I use a petzle Duo, but changed the distance halogen bulb with a cree, and mint. I also have a couple of older petzle zoom headlamps and put cree bulbs in, and they are brill.

Have had one Cree corrode with a bit of sea water and another burn out while fishing up Arbroath a few days ago. Won't be getting any more

I've used cree headlamps for some time now
1x 1600lm
1x 1200lm both are bright as hell and last a long time for the price you pay they're worth it. Medium power is all you need.

Spend that bit mote and get a fenix hp20 much better build quality better battery life and as for crees been 2000 lumen thats tosh my fenix is 260 lumen and granted not quite as bright as cree but not far off. I beleive they do a hp30 aswell now up to 900 lumen which aint going last long at all just but it says this when u look into the description think u get 12 hours on 300 lumen which is very very good do a bit of research into them you will see they aint made in a dodgy factory in china and theh have a 2 year warranty
A quality build u will not be dissapointed

i have a cheep 1600 cree and to be fair it is really bright, you only need it on half power for fishing so get 4hrs from it. ive had no problems with this one so far but have had 4 smaller ones break on me in the past.

i only use this one if i need a lot of light at distance.

my best light is my lensor h7r.

brilliant little lamp. a nice wide full beam for digging or fishing piers and will zoom out if i needlight at distance. on half power [which is all you need, even for digging] i get around 4 hours out of 3 small batteries but always carry a couple of sets of spares anyway. with this lamp you can get replacement parts or repairs unike my cheaper powerful lamp.

I've had the cree 1800 lumen for over 2 years it had the 4 cell battery tested it the other day and was still going on full beam 3 hours later, have just bought a 5200 lumen on an eBay auction for £18.00 and it lights the whole beach up, not distance but area, well impressed.
