Cresswell Private Beach-Druridge Bay report

I think under the circumstances - great report about lots of other things of which bass played a small part. And the info that's since been given by blank on the nature of the mark it was entirely justified mentioning the place. On other occasions it's not a good idea IMO, the initial criticism came from a poster rightly concerned about conserving bass (for us to catch;) ) but maybe wrong to criticise in this instance. Something I am never guilty of ever.

LOL - not at all eh Charlie  ;)

take it your not on the drink tonight mate :D :D :D well said but it did p!ss me off how you doing anyway mate been a while :)

Daren...I admit I got up my a***, and yes it was a good report...a cracking sessions fishing by all acounts - one which we'd all like to be on the receiving end of.

yeah it would of been great to be on the receiving end of a session like that but why spoil it by posting like you did
waking up is hardly an excuse to spoil a lads report cos you have arse ache :( and whats with all the concern with bass all of a sudden  they are hard to catch so unless you are deliberately hunting them down yourself you should keep your opinions to yourself  and then you put a post up about bass today so whats the score are you a bass mad and dont want anyone to catch them cos it spoils your chances  explain

Have bitten my lip all day and can't really be chewed to rise to the bait....

Blank - soz for "ruining" your post..well done on the session, congrats on catching Bass

As to me being "Bass mad"....erm....yeah:rolleyes:

I only mirrored what has been said on here (and other forums) countless times about Bass marks...granted I said it quite abrubtly, so for that I apologise. As to the sentiment behind why I said it, that still holds true.

does everybody think the netters are daft, they know the best spots and stick to them, the guys have been doing it for years,i doubt a thread in here will influence there next trip:exclam:

Just had 17 bass to 19lb in the car park outside Barmston Club. Bait used - turkey twizzlers and Tag Huer watches.

come on charlie keep it to yourself mate well done on the fish :D :D :D
note to self leave all crab and worm at home turkey twizzlers and tag huer watches for bait
if it works for charlie it should work for me :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Just had to reply to the negative posts and say that i think we are treating the issue of bass a little bit serious.Yeah we all don't want the commercial boats curtaining the area with nets but i'm sure that the area in question has plenty nets off shore. The fish do have to move in remember and as we know the boats do catch a big percentage of those fish.So me mentioning the area will have every boat in the North East heading for Cresswell NOT!..I hope that the shore anglers here do visit the area and catch a few fish, that is the whole idea of this thread..So you'll be glad to here that i have just getting back from another visit to Cresswell and i had a few successful sessions. The first night out was from the rocks on the private beach and i had a few small codling (1lb 4oz - 2lb 8oz) it was a bite every cast for me first four chucks.Bait was rag tipped with frozen crab. One of these fish fell off as i was bringing it across the rock skeers and as the tide dropped i could wade onto the next skeer, as the tide retreated i managed to hop onto the next skeer and when i was returning to me box to bait up.I found me fish lying on the rocks (lucky or what). :) ..We had a shot from the beach casting towards the front of the Carrs fishing into the back of a large sand bar and we had seven small flounders the best going 1lb 4oz.Plus a few u/s coalies all of these were caught on one up one down rigs baited with white worm and fresh blow lug.The next night we fished HW down into darkness and all we managed were the same u/s coalies and my first ever encounter with a weaver fish what an ugly critter. We had a go at the Private beach last night and i only went out to use the last of our bait.I had missed the tide and started fishing for about 8pm HW down. The tide was bombing out but to my surprise a few fish came to our baits.A few small coalies just about size and a few postage stamp flounder. But after fishing for about 2 hours down 'Lee' managed to catch another schoolie 1lb 8oz.So he was having another photo session with his catch before returning it back to the water. He was in awe as as he watched it shoot off into the shallows at lightning speed.(Someone was asking what rigs we used for the bass? The tried and tested favourite of mine a one up one down 24' snoods with 2/0 hooks clipped down to an impact lead.) But i had a canny few days away topping up the tan and getting some good weather and a few fish as well.Good to see the lad enjoying his fishing which is a good buzz for me.

for anyone who's interested this is one of the marks i fished at the private beach. If you notice the pipe running out to sea.Follow this as far as you can then head across the rocks parallel with the shore line. You'll notice a large kelp bed to the right and a smaller clump of kelp to the left.Cast either over the kelp to the left or fish the gap in between the two. Please note that this pic was taking on a very big tide.So the kelp may not be visible on a smaller tide..
