I was scouting about for a few new marks to try in a couple of weeks once my knee is better. I was here this afternoon and had a look at the rocks near the ice cream shop. When I go I will prob try spinning and bait fishing and will probs try the beach and the rocks.

what I want to know is can people give me a clue as to where along the beach might be worth a go and where to try at what state of the tide....the water around the rocks looks quite shallow, are they better at high or low water, has anyone known it to throw up any Pollock or would it be best to try for smaller species with light tackle there.

I know its lot of questions but any point in the right direction appreciated as will save me a bit of time trying stuff out as I don't get fishing a lot

thanks

Ive been on that beach a few times and its mostly flatties you get. Around the rocks you may get a few codling but mostly snags..

cheers mate, flatties are good.....snags aren't, anyone tried spinning of the rocks though?

not much spinning
had coalies but no Pollock, water not that deep, odd gully where it is are full of kelp
better off with a texas weedles rig
otherwise its flatties over the sand at the moment, not much else about, if bait fishing then much beter after dark hour either side of high or low water
rag seems most consistent bait
