CSSC North East Qualifier

[CODMAN]

The first qualifier for next years CSSC Final at Holyhead Breakwater was held last night in atrocious conditions. This was a pegged catch and release match with fish over 18cm eligible. The match was moved from Blyth Beach to the river due to the conditions and even the small fish were hard to come by.

Top 5 as follows:

1st Alan O'Neill 11 fish 220cm
2nd Dave Grieve 10 fish 193cm
3rd Mark Atkinson 5 fish 107cm
4th Ray Edmonds 4 fish 79cm
5th Phil Darling 1 fish 18cm

A far cry from the final that was held in the tyne recently where the top 3 all had over 11 metres of fish.

Four fish for Mr Edmunds. Was he using them Guppy flakes again !!

He had 3 in the first half hour and then blanked for 3 and a half hour before getting one on last cast. Fishing was terrible longest fish 27cm!
