Bloody dawn chorus is starting about 03.30 around us now,Will throttle that "blackie" if I catch it LOL Anyway as a consequence was up sharp this morning and decided to have a stroll down to Cullercoats foreshore to check out the sunrise.

The "Golden Hour" lasted about 10 minutes this morning and this is the best I could come up with

Bit like fishing, got to put the hours in !!!!!! In fact getting bass on a popper on the MOG is easier than getting a good sunsire/sunset on camera.

Had about 7/8blanks before that sunrise

Lifes a bitch :-) LOL and then you marry one. Been married to mine now for 38 years !!!!

Nice one Snatcher. Was that hand held or on a tripod? Just got a Canon 18-135mm IS for a good price but not been out with it yet.

go on john give us the exif data for us enthusiasts. learning all the time. tony

Tony I came into photography late in life and am still learning. Pleased I did though !!! Anyway that Cullercoats sunrise shot I captured on my Canon 400D with a Sigma 18-200mm lens. I had the camera set up on a tripod with a remote shutter release to eliminate camera shake. You can always use your cameras self timer if you have not a remote release.

Settings were

Mode Av,F29,ISO100,0.8",WB Shade

I always shoot in Raw or Raw+Jpeg now as if a get the camera settings wrong on the shoot the photo is normally recoverable on Photoshop when I get home. If I had just shot in Jpeg and got it wrong the shot may not be recoverable.

Hope this helps

John
