cullernose (is tha any) point

fished 4 up and 2 down today, hoping for a few mackerel. 4 of us fished, tried spinning/feathers etc. all depths, float fishing, ledgering with both big and little rods/baits. fished at our feet (maybe thats where we were going wrong, we shoulda been in the wata) and at distance. lug, rag, crab, mackie, squid used. 5 plaice, 2 flounder, 3 coalies and a sand eel all taken on afore mentioned baits hard on the bottom. NEE MACKEREL:exclam: had a crackin day all the same though

we were quite surprised as well! no camera today i,m afraid. we were casting parallel with the shore, south towards the bath house, its actually nice clean ground. no gear lost untill you punch one toward holland, then its a different kettle 'o' fish:exclam:

There is a patch of sand off there. One of our lads had a nice dab off there a few years back

a few times iv been up the there was lads fishing off the high part of the cliffs hoyin strait forward they were catching quite a few flattys as well i to was realy supprised.
