Anyone tried the Daiwa Meanstreak beach rods?
According to Daiwa, they're, "Tough, powerful, suited to rough ground and capable of 185yds". Well, yes, but they would say that, wouldn't they? They are very cheap though - between £50 and £60 RRP and a lot cheaper than that if you shop about.
Most comments I've seen online are very positive, although none of them have come from anglers from this part of the world, which makes me wonder how rough the ground is that they've been used on. The only negative remarks have been along the lines of 'you get what you pay for so they must be rubbish', which perhaps was true 20 years ago, but I'm not so sure these days, with everyone's blanks rolling out of the same factories in China.
So what's the verdict? Bargain? Or bobbins?
