Deal Pier south east coast

hi down south visiting family so might have a trip over to deal pier tomorrow. anyone fished it before????? guy in local tackle shop says there's bass off the beach 20 yards out. plenty thornbacks macky and doggys from the end of the pier so gonna give it a go. any info would be much apreciated cheers lads

can be very snaggy off the end lots of dogs about some thornies ,bass and smoothounds.

single shrimp is what a lot of locals use along wth sandells blueys and crab.

been a difficult few months down there as us wth current weather pattern.

a friend won a comp down there the other day off a beach near deal and won it in a big sea using a three hook rig wth sandell he had ten dogs and one pouting,he said most people did,nt bother to fish it wth the conditions.

apparently strong tides down there so good grip leads essential.

we were fishing 3 weeks ago about the 2/nd shelter along casting out to the right about 40 yds, plenty of doggies on fish baits. bluey's were the best. keeps your baits nailed to the bottom, as top hooks weren't touched.
