Went out this morning around 8.30, fished some hard ground marks within 2 miles of seaham, was some huge shoals of mackeral about, was difficult to get through them at times. Took well over 100 mackeral, but released about 70% of them. Had some decent size whities and a few cod up to about 4lb.
Funny part was hand feeding a Fulmar which took a liking to us and was a very confident little fella.

, I'm suprised how careful the gulls ae when I'm out , they never seem to be keen on getting too close to us in the boat , must have some bad memories of humans in boats methinks? Nice you found a friendly one
