depth/Fish finder

Got a small 14ft speedboat that I like to mess about on and have tried taking along my fishing gear a few times now. I got plenty of mackeral at the weekend but I was hoping for a few different species. I wanted to go over the rocks around parton but without any depth guage was very wary. Can anyone recommend a cheap depth fish finder for the occasional trips as I think there might be better fishing over the rocks outside of casting range. Cheers.

Have a look on Ebay, there's plenty new/ secondhand ones from basic chrome, basic colour. I would stick with Lowrance, eagle, humminbird, Garmin. Plenty under £100.

Good advice in the above post. You should also consider adding a spare battery, separate to the one for starting your engine. A £10 one from a scrappy will do to start with.
