Me and Big Tel fished the Derwent today, in glorious sunshine . I had the bag limit and Tel had 7 , biggest fish was 4lb 2oz and tell had one over 3lb. All fish were on bait apart from one which Tel got on a Black and Green Fritz .
Very few fish rising so most of the day was spent ledgering.
Well done mate, 2nd trout on the fly and your casting is coming on great....
But i got the biggest again...

Yeah mate a great day....
You always get the big fish on the boat, so at least let me get them on the Derwent

Great catches lads.

I fished over on the meadow on the fly and got a 3 pound 8 ouncer. Certainly wasnt the weather for fly fishing, far too bright and hot. Give me a cool slight breeze day any day over yesterdays bake-a-thon I only lasted 3 hours before I was burning and went home

Thanks for the replies lads, it was a good day and the first time i've had a bag limit in 3 years of fishing the Derwent. Still would'nt mind if i blanked, it's a great place to just chill out..

What kind of bait were you using ?

Orange powerbait and worm, then dropped down to just powerbait as i was reaching the bag limit and still caught one, so dropped down to just red powerbait and still got one....so any bait really...

That's all ya need worm and powerbait it does the bizzzzzz but ya can catch ya bag limit to quick so it pays to take a fly rod.
