Got up today lads for my second outing of the season. Went straight to Bay of Plenty out of strong wind. Guys either side of me were catching a fish a cast. I struggled at first but came good as noon passed. Three Rainbows to take home-two released-loads and i mean loads of tugs.
Called it a day at 4.30 pm. Nice to be out blowing the cobwebs off. Crossed my mind today about full time membership. Costs about 800 quid. You only need to go twice a week to recoup it.
Best lure seemed to be black fritz.

Mick.

Hello Mick,
Well done....it was realy windy yesterday. I was up at the caravan and went to Chatton for the last couple of hours before it closed, I caught two rainbows, one coat, one hat and a tackle bag. Also managed to completley tangle up a brand new spool of leader.

Well done Stan, I fancy Aldin Grange what did you catch on? I might have a look soon.

Regards Ian

Canny day then Mick. Sport can be great this time of year. Never fished Derwent, can you wade, or are you restricted to the bank?

You can wade but not allowed past thighs-mind that goes out of the window half of the time. To be honest i like knee level. Gives you enough to cast properly and is not as cold.
Was up tonight with dog at Pow Hill and rese looked spot on at North Shore. Really looking forwards to next trip out.
