had 5 hrs up there today started off above the sailing club were the stream comes in nowt for the first few chucks then cast towards entrance to stream fly hardly hit the water one allmighty splash and line was streaming off reel thought it was never going to stop then fish jumped and that was that. never got another touch so moved further along bank first cast fish about 3lb caught fish constantly all day trick was to follow the fish as they were moveing up and down in the water any way got me bag of 8 smallest 2,3/4lb dont know how many fish hooked then got off. all in all a very good day heviest fish was 3,3/4lb fish were taken on a dawsons apart from 2 hooked and lost on a black fritz.

nice report john, sounds like a canny bag of fish you got their, pity about the first unstoppable you hooked into.

Fishman,

I was over the other side of the Derwent at Pow Hill. First ever time fresh water fishing. Ledgered off the bottom with power bait on and caught two lovely rainbow trout 1-1/4 pound the other just over 3 pound.
Tried fly fishing. Did,nt catch nowt but am getting the hang of it.
