anyone heading up the the derwent for opening day tomorrow Ive got all my gear ready now cannot wait

well got up to the derwent for 7.30 didnt get my ticket till 8.30 there were at least a couple hundred people anyway couldnt fish where I wanted to at the bay of plenty it was shoulder to shoulder so ended up at pow hill flicked my line out 3 yrds and was pulling line off the reel when bang fish on it took off and was giving a good fight so good i thought it was going to be close to double figures got it to the net a nice 4lb blue on the dropper and 7ft away on the point a 2lb bow in 20yrs fly fishing this was the first time this has happend to me didnt get another bite all day my daughters boy friend managed 1 on power bait and worm . then when i was packing the car shut the door and crunch rod knackerd at least it wasnt my greys

Always the same on opening day, hordes of people. I'll be heading up that way next weekend hoping for the biggin.
Wots the state of the water like low/high as last year it went from being right up to the trees to looking like a drought had hit as water was really low.

I bet that was a good scrap on a fly rod well done for getting them in

aye well done on getting them both in, nice blue that! after the opening weekend with it being so busy i was expecting to see perhaps one or two more reports/replys am up with the club next tues (23rd) and a cannit wait. gonna venture out for the first time this year on thursday upto langley just to give me lines a stretch. watch this space . . . . . . .
