Morning lads.

I'm looking for something off our lass for Xmas and I'm thinking about one of the above. Does anyone own one of have any experience of them? I've seen the sand mans tackle time video of the 20 but his was magged. Do they come with blocks as standard?

if it's the same one as I had 2 speed lever drag there is no brakes init I had to get my magged up mate the 20 and 30 are well fast mate cracking reels though...

Is the penn trq magged like scott? That's what's puttin me off. All that money to have to spend more.

Penn TRQ's are not magged, if fact they do not have a braking system as such, they have a small pressure washer on the end of the spindle.
To mag can cost £35 to £45.
Excellent reels but very expensive.
Fathom reels (without level wind) have 4 brake blocks fitted they are a sturdy reel and cheaper.

6.3.1 retrieve on it ,I use mine in the rocks and kelp ,the fish fly in well enjoy it..

The retrieve was one of the reasons I wanted one mate. That and the build quality. Now I've got it and had a good look it's faster than my blue 7ht mag.

What line are you using on it? The box says I'll get 210 yds of .45 line so I'm going to try 30lb sufix.

30 pound trilene mate .50 straight through always plenty left on the spool after I cast , hope this help mate and all the best to you and your family

You have helped there. I've got some 0.5 37lb sufix in the shed. Might fill it and have a go up the field tomorrow. I'm probably lucky if I cast 100yds with bait so should be alright if I don't empty it.

30 mate....just checked the spool it's 0.55 my mistake sorry,always thought it was 0.50
