dodgy start at craster

After a very dodgy start( snapping ripcord on outboard, and then after fixing, doing off to sea leaving rod against harbour wall) had a pretty good day compared to last week. Had some nice cod (32) to just over 6lb, average 3to4lb. The nice thing was these fish were in beautiful condition, took a variety of rigs bait- mussel - ragworm -rippers - jellies- muppets - not this variety the plastic ones. stayed away from the daylights after two drops could'nt get through the mackerel totally dense.

Nice one, sounds like a canny session.
I drove all the way to the marina the other week then realised I had forgetten the boat keys.

A nice few cod there.

We found it hard finding the cod from Craster, only hit a coule of patches of them in any great numbers but had loads of line. Sometimes as soon as the boat stopped, the ling where being pulled in.

I agree with the mackerel up craster, never seen anythign like it,wall to wall and not just at one spot..it seemed like the whole bloody sea was full.

red hull

red hull

Funny that we only got 2 small ling, fingerling we call them, was that you just south of the castle on boat with red hull because we were about 1.5 - 2miles due east of the castle. A couple of daft hours then very little, i know what you mean about wind &tide combining making it difficult to find bottom you've either got to use braid (less resistance) or throw a pick down and flick uptide alittle, sorry you had a dodgy day it does sometimes happen.
