Im wating to take the bairn out fishing for Doggies but where is the closest venue to tyne and wear to get them ??

Odd one shows up Seaham area, Dunst castle but best bet and i would say not shy of 100% chance of catching one is west coast of Scotland, bang a line out with any fish bait or infact any bait lol and you will get them.

Bloody every cast sometimes when i been over that way.

I was thinking the west coast in the summer around kirkcudbright,camping for a weekend

Just wondered if her was anywhere closer for a day trip

you could try the holderness coast from may onwards.....i always seem to get a few on sandeel when after the thornbacks

I was across close to kirkudbright area last year a place called garlieston been twice before and it's dogfish heaven there are some lovely rock marks I fish with frozen sandeel they love that I got 11 in 5 hrs last time cracking day might try to target smoothound this year I'm going again in may, good luck and tight lines.

A friend of mine dives around dunstanburgh castle and he told me theres loads of them down there so if you target them you will get them, i had a few from there last year.
