Double figure cod on NorthStar today

Cracking day today on Northstar left Hartlepool at 0800 with everyone in high spirits after Fridays report and they weren't disappointed from the first drop the cod were there and a much better stamp of fish than Friday. Once we got to slack water the ling started to appear in numbers but as soon as the tide come back on the cod turned up with some nice fresh fish showing all of the cod fell to Dusty bins rippers so needless to say i have had to order more as all of mine quickly went all in all it was a brilliant day and hopefully this is the start of a good run of fish well done lads cracking day

I have caught alot of cod this year with them red sores on the body like that double cod, anyone know what it is? injured from the wreck, virus etc?

I know carp get sores like that when they have been spawning Ritchie so maybe cod are the same.

Another good day with Jim. me and the son had a cracking day. James had a pb ling about the 8/9 lb mark.Usually I'd fillet the fish on the way back in but I took advise off Chris and left the.m in the fridge overnight a lot easier to fillet . That's us on the right of the first pic. We tried the shads for about the first hour and half but after seeing Chris catch 4 cod I bought some rippers off Jim then it was bite after bite. Great day apart from the tangles with 2 older guys using 6 oz leads
