took the bairns to the sea side!

smuggled a carp rod and reel in the boot and had a wander down to 'somewhere' at low tide. dug a handful of worms on the way, grabbed a few prawns in rock pools and a peeler, so far so good, spent nowt!

fishing wise, rubbish, 2 micro flatties

found a series of rockpools right on the lowest edge and had a plodge with the bairns...... an hour later 8, yes 8 lobsters, all in size plus loads of undersize.

masses of edibles that had just peeled, or 'bendy' crabs as finn called them, not come across that before either

gave 4 they're freedom in the big wide ocean. the biggest 4 (steve, george fred and big bob apparently) weren't so lucky, but are suffering a far more glorious end, courtesy of the Pansy lemon and some home made alioli

best days fishing I've had in years, will post a pic later

as named by the bairns, holly reckons george tasted nicer than fred, big bob and steve are destined for lobster risotto tomorrow

their remains are currently simmering away to make a stock for the risotto!

put a few mackeral in a carrier bag with a sprinkling of salt and leave in the sun for 24 to 48 hours

mings like a mackem lasses drawers but works better as a bait for lobbies IMHO, and discourages the crabs

I might need to edit this later :D

lobsters

careful as you might be in trouble with fisheries as non licensed people are only allowed to take one lobster per day!
