This Comp was fished ? At Claxheugh Prom on the river Wear on a dropping tide from 7pm till 10pm by 10 adult members and young junior Calum Stuart.
It was a measure/release total length Anything over 18cms comp as a few fish were expected. WRONG
With the eleven rods span the full length of the prom the total amount of fish came to THREE.
Plenty of crabs feeding but only three flounders came out.
Peter Chadwick led the way from the beginning with a 29cm Flounder until the last half hour when Barry Johnson managed a nice 34cm Flounder to take the total length and longest fish prizes.
Nice night but no fish
Baits used. You name it. Live crab, frozen crab, runnydown,Ragworm,Bluey, Mackeral, and even Peters Flounder spoons.
High lite of the day. Watching big Mick Dunn hide in the trees with his new Camo waterproofs to see if Calum could find him ! Mick yer too big to be a sniper !!!!

Results.

1st Barry Johnson 1 flounder for 34cm
2nd Peter Chadwick 1 flounder for 29cm
3rd Ian Ainsley 1 flounder for 18cm

Thanks for the update. Pity the fishing was so poor for you. :(
Just goes to show, no matter what Bait you have, if the Fish aint there, you wont catch them. A mate & me were on Shields Pier for over 5 hours till 8.30pm for 4 small Flats & a small Tommy.

No way could Mick hide anywhere, buggers too big.:D

I did not even get a bite. Still never mind i enjoyed watching the girls getting in and out of the rowing boats from the club nearby so the night was not a complete loss ha ha.

I hope that was properly checked. Heard it was stretched like an eel before it was measured??
