Durham Police SAC River Wear at the Piggery 27/4/12

Today, thirteen members turned out in bright sunshine,including two juniors to fish the River Wear at the Piggery,South Hylton between 3pm and 7pm,using SAMF scoring system Catch/Release.
A lot was expected after recent catch reports with regards to the flounder, but today was very slow going. The tide was fished from low water up over with no fish recorded for the first hour. Martin Willis then went into a two fish lead using Ragworm tipped with maki, before one fell to peeler for Ian Ainsley.
As the tide began to run, it brought on a few bites from the flounder and an appearance from an early evening Eel. Martin stole the show with a further two flounder, including on on his last cast.
A poor show from the fish with the scorer not needing his usual calculator.

RESULT.

1st Martin Willis 4 fish for 43 pts
2nd Ian Ainsley 2 fish for 30pts
3rd Derek Sirret 2 fish for 27pts
4th Alan Lunn 1 fish for 12pts
5th Mick Dunn 1 fish for 16pts
6th Simon Cutter 1 fish for 10pts
6th David Woodcock 1 fish for 10pts
8th Young Calum Stuart 1 fish for 8 pts
9th Kev Woodcock 1 fish for 6 points

The rest shared the Mexican hat. !!!! el blanco

All fish returned alive.
