Well there was a perfect sea running AND Roker Pier was open!!!!
Decided to fish behind the rollers when I turned up there at 3am....3hrs later and nothing was entertaining my live crab and live yellowtails!...moved to Hendon Prom. second bay and was greeted with rows and rows of big swells, and thought "spot on"...An hour and a half later and still not had a touch!!...beginning to think what the hells going on!....moved to the end bay at the far south end of the prom....first chuck zinged away, and five minutes later I was excited by a slack liner!...."git in there", and swung over a fine codling all of ten inches!!!!!!...."well it's a start I thought" - The sun eventually came up at 7.50, and I got full view of the fine sea that was running....where were the fish?....finally gave up at 9.30am...are the sprat offshore me thinks???
By the way, it was one of the coldest nights I've felt for a long time. One of those nights when you bait up that spare rig, you have to put your hands inside the neoprene chesties....absolutely bitter!

Hope someone else found them if they were out last night. (someone had an eight pounder on the roundhead when I got there!)

Get on the blower mate and demand some extras - spools of line etc...:D

It's the least they could do mate...

Hope you get it soon mate...;)

i think theres more chance of fish today or even more so tomorrow always like the sea to be away a few days first, always seem to do better then than the day it first lifts !
might give it a try myself tomorrow night.

The wind had gone round by this morning Micky - and it was flattening quickly as the tide ebbed...forcast to go south easterly by the weekend though....best sea in the world south easterlies, I find it pushes bigger fish in...just my opinion like...;)

just checked the forcast and the wind is supposed to switch back north easterly for a time tomorrow but be fairly light so hopefully there will still be enough movement on.
i prefer south easterlies as well always seem to do better on them, but i think a lot is down to the venue you fish, some are better on south easterlies but others on northerlies.

Fished Whitley Pipe Last night. Small codling & rockling. Was not much fun as the sea was a bit on the big side. Been down the coast & there is still a good sea on. Chance of a fish or two for someone tonight I would have thought.

I reckon there's no fish because of the high pressure....Always find that fish feed well during movement which coincides with a low pressure!

cod piece hereagain after more info(sorry just a beginner) how was there no fish because that day because of high pressure i remember that day clearly it was low pressure right over hendon beach can you explain please:confused:
