DVD Ripping Help

I need some software that will allow me to convert commercial DVD's to an editable format - one must be .avi that is compatible with Adobe Premiere any other formats a bonus. It's all legit as it's for educational use and I can spend a few quid on something that is stable and nonesense free. I'm ok with handling video once it's in a form I can use but have no idea about the dark arts. Another bonus would be something that can also convert JVC .mod files as well. Any ideas or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I'll have a gander - do the full Nero etc Progs not do the same. I need something unfree as the techies at NTC might come round and shave my feet if it's not on the level or all squared up.

"Who will save the Widow's Son" will that help :yltype:

Nero does all that at a cost ;)...I got Nero with a DVD Burner and it is very good

It's perfectly legal freeware, it's down to what you choose to use it for...as the sites themselves take great pains to point out ;)

dunno if the PeeCee version of quicktime does the same but....

dvd in drive, launch quicktime, file menu and open navigate to the dvd and open the VOB or VIDEO_TS file

then go file save as

job done!

time you bought a proper video editing platform matey boy
