Went down Friday 24/01/2014 lads 2:30pm till 8 pm. Set up about half a mile along beach to the left as you go down black path. One other lad fishing. Sea looked great with a bit surf.
After no bites, No fish and rain which began to fall steadily heavier called it a day. Just as I was about to go other lad landed a Tommy Codling.
Hard work walking back to the motor which was parked in estate past the railway bridge. Hammering down and pulling my trolley with box on.
I could,nt help think would my Freelander 2 - 4x4 get along the hardish ground above the beach seems canny enough tracks and I believe you can get on at Blackhall-then I thought about the stories I have heard about 4x4,s getting stuck and thought better not.
Thats twice I have blanked there now and its frustrating because it looks a really good spot.
Third time lucky ????.
Mick.

aye, keep trying mick every dog has its day mate, was going to say its better than sitting in the house... but a blank in that weather! not so sure, but weve all been there!:)

hi mick if u taking the 4x4 down (bring me along(hint hint) then head to the north end of the beach mate. best at low water at the north end me thinks then as tides are at its heighest move along southwards. vary ur distance u will find the fish :)

You can get along easily now just plough through the water on the left hand side all gravel bottom I use it all the time now without any probs plenty of hard tracks along the self top or you can make your own I do let me know and I can help if you ever get stuck
