Popped down today and got some more excellent bait from Liam at NETS. Headed fro the Heugh low water at 12pm intending to fish tide up. Bluey , Blacks, (from Liam), and Mackeral baits.
As i walked up things looked off from the beginning. Water was gin clear and i saw a Seal. Never mind made my way along careful of the ice and set up off the end. I was the only one on and after 4 hrs of no bites and bitter temperatures decided to call it a day.
It was -3.5 when i got there and 2 degrees when i left.
Bit disappointed but was good practice for Norway.(Except there no fish).

Hard to bear Mick, a big 10 out of 10 for effort though. You will be well aclimatised in prep for your trip. Norway will no doubt give you the rewards which you well deserve for your committment. Hard luck for today mate.

if youd used small baits on size 2 hooks you would have had dabs most casts.

better fished in darkness at the minute or until the weater colours up again.
