Woke up at 3 am and though will I won't I ? , decided on another half hours kip and woke again at 5am and went for it :)
I went straight down to the skeers and was suprised to find another boat already there , by the time I came in there were at least 3 private boats and a charter (upholder) , that amounts to gridlock at Amble :D
Anyway to put it mildly the fishing was outa this world, I found a drop off which was stuffed with cod , the first couple of drifts were from deep to shallow across the drop off and netted about six fish then the tide/wind combination changed and it allowed me to crawl at about .005 kts the full length of the drop off , unbelievable , fishing a toon army shad the lead hit bottom and the rod arched over , no winding, jigging, feeling for bites or any of that , straight into fish time after time after time , it was relentless :D
The fish box was overflowing and it wasn't even 9 oclock yet :o
Fish were about 5lbs mostly , a couple nearer 7 or 8 and nothing but cod , I eventually had to change the shad as it disintegrated ,and tried a pirk and a set of jellys both of which took a couple of fish but the shad reigned supreme.
I love fishing me :D

cracking report sounds like a very good day:D wish me engine was fixed and work didnt get in the way:( tight lines tho for those of you who can;)

Ray, that sounds fantastic mate, my mouth is watering with the thought of crewing for Norman as it seems like ages since we were digging into fish like you.

Well done mate :D

Regards
Paul

I love fishing too! Sounds like u had the carlsberg of drifts there mate, cracking report well done

Spot on Chris, a carlsberg drift, that's what it was ;), so often I find the fish and struggle to put the boat over them for any length of time due to the drift but this time was really special, parked her on top of them and moved ever so slowly along the "wall" that was beneath me , it was perfect, I must have taken 30 fish in that one drift which covered only about 30 yards , pure magic :)

Spot-on Ray, you obveously made the right choice, thats the way to do it:D
Wish we were there today as Craster didn't provide:(
