So me and my dad headed down South Shields pier today at about 1 and headed along to the end, blowing a gale and was a nightmare with loads of people there and not giving a damn on where they were throwing there gear about. Nearly had my head taken off by some bloke at the end so we ended up leaving the end and came down the bottom where it was a little less packed and the wind had dropped a bit. Had a few more casts but didn't get anything, only seen a couple getting taken at the bottom. We left and headed home, on the way we thought we would go check our frenchmans and Johnsons just for a look about as I've not fished up there before, seem a couple of the lads there who had a few mackerel and we went for a good walk along the cliff tops and look about the rocks without our rods to see what it was like. Seen a good few spots so we are gonna head down next weekend with the bigger tides with a few spinners and see what is going. Just fancy somewhere different rather than the pier to be honest even though I will probably end up there one day next week before we head upto marsden. All in all nice day out and took some cracking pics on my iPhone.
