F.A.O Sunderland fans

My first game at Roker was the FA cup against Man City in 73, what a game to start!

Was there for the last game, and walking out at the end was one of the hardest things I\'ve ever had to do. I was sat in the Fulwell end for ages (got on the telly and got some stick!) watched the roof come down on the clockstand one afternoon, and there were old blokes crying round me. I tried to explain to the wife that its part of your life, but you know what women are like!

She who must be obeyed would be found at a home game standing next to me in the Roker end. She knows what it means mate.

My first game was in 1965 against Stoke City.
We won 2-0 !!

It`s a long story, but I ended up back at the Roker Hotel with my dad after the game, and had dinner with the players !!

After that I was hooked.

My first game was around 1978, against Sheff Utd I think, we needed to win by four goals to go top, it was 6-2 with not long to and they got a penalty, but Barry Sidall saved it Sidall, Sidall, Sidall or was it Basil Fawlty.. ha ha!!!

Being a Walker lad I was brought up to err dislike Sunderland ....however working in Sunderland has definately made things worse lol
