Does anyone know anyone who sorts reels out and how much? I\'ve got a few multipliers need overhauling if i can afford it.

What happened to B.Bs takle shop in Pallion? I stopped going for a while and when i went back it was closed.

And how can i catch MASSIVE cod from the shore? :D

It\'s pretty easy to strip a multiplier right down. I do it all the time (infact I\'ve just stripped my 525gs down tonight to give it a service). Try with your oldest reel, laying out all the parts on newspaper and cleaning them systematically. Once you know how to do one reel they\'re all mutch of a mutchness (still not tried my lever drag yet though!). The main tips I\'d give you would be to make sure the screwdrivers you use are the right size and leave yourself plenty of time. :D

\"It\'s pretty easy to strip a multiplier right down......\"

Yep....it\'s geet easy.......tricky bit is putting it all back together again without having a couple of bits left on the table......lol

Geoff,
My son, Ian, needed his 525 repaired recently.
He took it to Billys (North Shields)......works like new again.
Only cost a couple of quid.

For such a small cost, I\'d rather leave it to somebody who knows what they\'re doing......Not that you don\'t Mike, but I wouldn\'t have a clue.
He\'d had it in for repair last year (another tackle dealers). Cast out with it once and same thing happened to it. Took it to Billys and when Billy opened up the reel, he found that the bearings hadn\'t been replaced.....not replace as in new ones fitted.....not replaced as in THERE WEREN\'T ANY IN IT !!

The reel is pretty easy to solve (have ago yourself mate it aint to hard)
As for the big cod,,,, now that is a poser, I aint got a clue :( :( :( ;)

Think the advantage I have Tony is that since the age of 11 I have stripped down reels (initially just fixed spool reels). Messed the first one up, but never had a problem since, apart from 1 crumbled screw. The only bit that can be a swine is the ratched spring when it flies across the room and is very hard to find! ;)

Like you say though, if there is somewhere close that\'ll do it for a couple of quid it\'s probably not worth the hassle of doing it yourself.

North Shields.

It\'s the road that runs though N. Shields town centre, Geoff.

Take a look in the Web Links section (over on the left of the screen under \"modules\").....there\'s all sorts of useful links in there.

Billy Brown\'s been a NESA member since the dawn of time......well that\'s stretching things a bit......but a long time, anyway.......lol

Take a lucky pill once every 4 hours for the rest of your life, and fish big lug/rag/mussel or crab (or all four!) baits on big pennel rigs ;)

geoff you cant go far wrong with rutherfords in roker avenue hell fix yer reels for ya and he generally wont charge you that much.
