well me,phil, and simon(sigsy) headed down to the brigg at around 16:45 got there for 19:00 and headed straight for the point shown in last months sea angler lol.

we fished for about 1 1/2hrs with only one small coalie and a crab to show loads of bites which nothing came from so we headed to the beach at the south side of the brigg.

first few casts and nothing to show about and hour or so later sigsy got the first bite of the beach but it wasnt too big so reeled in anyway and it resulted a half decent plaice soon after that he got his second and then mine followed all around the pound mark give or take alittle.

Yes Ross, they are flounders with spots, But hey what the hell, sounds like you had a good time at the Brig. Well done lads...:)

If you catch a flattie with spots and your not sure what it is I was always told to stroke up it's back. If it's smooth then its a Plaice but if it feels like sandpaper then it's a Flounder.
If this isn't right then I am knackered :)

Back on topic though, Thanks for the report. :)

your joking i didnt even have a bag lol

Its funny that, when ever i forget to take a bag i always catch something.
however if i say to myself, "oh i `ll just take this carrier-bag with me to put all the fish i catch in", i catch Nowt.. happens everytime. bags are over-rated:D

The way I tell the difference in flatties is:-

P polka dots are bright on a plaice
D duller spots on a dab
F flounder f******g waste of space those things lol

the dabs i catch dont have spots well maybe some small blackish type spots.
and (sea)flounders taste better than plaice.
and there is of coarse the cross breed plaice/flounder, cant remember what they are called.
