Finally........

Ive been itching to get out for the last few days after another crap weekend of fishing, only had about 15 lug left in the fridge that needed using so went out armed with the lug, some frozen peeler and squid. Wasnt sure on where to go, it was either the walkway or the heugh... so after a flick of a coin off to the heugh it was. First cast= crab, Second= spider crab (even though i didnt think we got them up here:confused ), Third=nowt, Last cast= codling just over 2lb. I know it doesnt sound like much to most people but so far this season ive been having a nightmare and this is my first codling this season. Im chuffed :red:

Up until now i have been starting to doubt myself and constantly asking what im doing wrong (particularly after a certain incident at horden where after fishing for about 3 hours with almost nothing to show 'someone' turned up next to us and pulled out a 6lber first chuck ) Anyway im hoping this is a bad start to a good season. 49 to go haha......

congrats mate hope they keep coming 4 ya. going for a chuck later thinking of cullercoats over low. small tide should keep alot of water in and fish i hope.

Nice one Phil, hope its the start of of a betta season for ya am the same as you bud, only had one cod to date since begin of Oct.,, plenty bites but no takers had scotchies, coalies, flatties, an eel but only da 1 coddy, but a will keep on hoping!!!
