just read sigsy reporting his first ever fish, takes me back an lot of years to 1969 my first time fishing ,a handline off south shields groyne 4 sprats took them home to show me mam and dad, mam had to cook them for my tea. how she managed to gey owt off them i will never know, bloody things have led to a life of chasing anything with fins. i still get the same feeling now as i did then. anyone want to give details of first fish?

Tiny perch out of Newsham pond.
Took it home in a cycle punture repair kit box, yeah it was that big.
Never forgot that feeling of it kicking on my "junior" outfit.

First fish ever was the "lambton worm" (eel) at fatfield, caught on my first "whipper-snapper" rod! went home all covered in slime. great!

i was 10 and trying to catch macky i had one of those silver twirley spinners and a hand line with bight orange 100lbs line a 4 oz sinker and every thing tied to gether with granny knots it was on the middleton pier h,pool and when that fish took the spinner it was a fantastic feeling and after 30 years sea fishing the feeling when i hook a fish is just the same. happy days

My Dad took me fishing on Hastings pier in 1971. All we had for bait was earthworms dug from the garden that morning. I caught a Dab of around 12 ozs first cast. I have been a keen angler ever since and I still haven`t caught a bigger Dab.

Pair of eyes out of the Grand Union Canal in my hometown near Leicester. It was a roach that I caught using bread punch on a three metre whip. First sea fish were mackerel off some big rocks on holiday in Anglesey about fourteen years ago. Didn't get to go sea fishing again until I moved up here last year.
